Snacks On Snacks – Part II

13 Jun

Bon Soiree was nice but we left feeling hungry (and a little unsatisfied, to be honest, especially in light of the price).

We’ve been hearing a lot of noise about Five Guys burgers and fries.  It was voted best burger in Chicago in some write up I cannot seem to locate and is getting a ton of national press.  We happened to be driving by Five Guys on Belmont on our way home from Bon Soiree.  So, we definitely stopped and got some burgers and fries to go.  The menu is basic.  Burgers and hot dogs.  Add cheese and a handful of other standard ingredients if you like.

The burgers were delicious, as were the fries.  Think In-n-Out style (for a Cali girl this says a lot).  I had a plain cheeseburger.  Abe went all ingredients.  In short, an excellent main course to compliment our evening of snacks.

Gourmet snacks + Five Guys + Game of Thrones = perfect Abe and Diz Saturday night.

I thought the gasp was because we ate burgers after a fancy meal! I agree – so good!

Which is better In-n-out or 5 guys? We have both here. Does 5 guys have grilled cheese? Important things to ponder . . .

      Hard call. I feel committed to In-n-Out but 5 Guys is pretty close . . . .

Those burgers almost look better than In n Out! Too bad it’s my bed time because I just got really hungry. I’m glad you and Abe finally found a main course!

There are so many reasons why I love you guys, and this is definitely one of them! Adam will so appreciate this story because, in his mind, he equates foodie food with not enough food! And you are definitely inspiring me to try Five Guys….

Apparently there’s a 5 Guys on the navy base in San Diego. Let’s go when you come visit me!
