Water – Part I

23 Jul

I love special, flavored waters.  Great combination of accessibility and indulgence.  (Kind of like Starbucks.)  And it requires very little to put together a flavored water.  Two ingredients, maybe three.  The ingredients are typically household ones, too.  After a week of keeping up with Ali, Ling and the rest of Mike’s crew, a restorative fancy water going into the weekend is in order.

Ice Water with Almond Milk and Cinnamon

Fill a glass 1/3 full with ice.  (If you have those beautiful big square cubes that are trendy right now, that would be perfect.)  Add water until the level is at 2/3.  Add a couple of tablespoons of almond milk and as much cinnamon as you like.  (This is completely an approximation, by the way.)  Stir.  Drink. The milky water is nutty, sweet and refreshing – and very light.  The spicy cinnamon has a caffeine-like, awakening quality.  Perfect afternoon into going-out-for-the-evening drink.  Coaster courtesy of Big Star.

Happy (hot) summer!

Looks refreshing! I could use a sip of that in this hot weather!
