Grilled Cheese Four Ways – Part III

9 Dec

Abe’s grilled cheese aside, Briana’s was unquestionably among my favorite grilled cheeses of the day.  This is Abe and Bri before the competition got intense.

For her grilled cheese, Briana selected a number of unexpected ingredients that, when combined and melted, were heavenly.  Literally.  (See below.)  The boursin spread and sharp cheddar were a brilliant combination – creamy and melted perfectly, too.  The tapanade added a rich olive oil and zest flavor.  And some crunch (pine nuts, maybe).  Delicious.

Briana’s Grilled Cheese

Sourdough bread,

Sea salt,

Cheddar and sage boursin cheese (this comes as a spread),

Aged sharp cheddar (Briana used a white cheddar), and

Sundried tomato tapanade.

See prior grilled cheese sandwiches.  Do the same.  Do not be alarmed by the divine intervention that may or may not appear as you grill your sandwiches to a perfect golden brown.Love!
