A Summer Salad For Yuki

3 Aug

This post was going to be dedicated to this beautiful summer salad with spinach, crisp gala apples, white peaches, and avocado.

But, I just found out my poor family dog was attacked by coyotes so instead it will be a tribute to him.  He’s OK.  Just butt-hurt (sad!) with stitches all over.  Poor little guy!

All Play & No Work

25 Jul

Up until this point (365 days of posting, plus the bonus posts since then), I have kept this just-for-fun blog and my working life fairly separate.  But, I recently launched a new project that I think you will enjoy, and I am so excited about it, anyway that I wanted to share it with you!

After years of working as a litigator in a large corporate law firm, I left the firm to launch my own business where I worked closely with law students and new lawyers to help them with practical skills they do not learn in law school but that are central to a successful legal career.

This week, I have launched a spin-off program for entrepreneurs and small business owners focused on presentation, presence, and communication skills.  Through Greenhorn Bold, my mission is to help entrepreneurs use their unique presence and voice to influence and inspire others and ultimately to be bold and brilliant in their businesses and in their lives.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

The Glory Days Of Aviation

are over.  At least that’s what someone told me.  Apparently, back in the day, the skies were awful friendly.  Sigh . . . .

You’ve Never Lived

13 Jul

Until you have had pane pomodoro (bread and tomato).

This is one of the easiest things in the world to make, and it is summer comfort food at its best.  In Italy, this is a dream snack, particularly on a hot day.

You’ll need: fresh sourdough or ciabatta bread, a couple of tomatoes, good quality olive oil, salt, pepper, chopped fresh basil.

Cut the bread in half and place it crust side down.  Cut tomatoes in fourths.  Rub the meat of the tomato on the bread, making sure the pulp and juice of the tomato soften and integrate into the bread.  Drizzle with a couple of tablespoons of olive oil.  Salt and pepper to taste.  Sprinkle basil on top, also to taste.  Amazing.

The Antidote To Apathy

28 Jun

I gave a presentation at a large law firm in Boston last week.  It was inspired, in ways, by this talk by Dave Meslin.  I thought I would share it here.  Don’t wait to be appointed a leader.
